Agrivoltaics Solutions
Dual-Use Solar Solutions for Agriculture
At Davis Hill Development, we’re committed to empowering farmers to thrive sustainably. With our Agrivoltaic Solutions, you can harness the power of the sun while continuing to farm your land.
By seamlessly integrating solar facilities into agricultural operations, farmers are empowered to generate extra income, lower energy costs, and proactively produce clean energy.
Explore our range of agrivoltaic options, including rooftop solar and ground-mounted systems, all installed with no upfront costs. Join the movement of farmers across the nation who are embracing agrivoltaics to cultivate both crops and clean energy simultaneously.
Rooftop Farms Solutions
Our systems are designed to meet the unique needs of our customers, providing reliable, cost-effective, energy to power their operations at no cost to the owner. Learn more about our rooftop farm projects here.
Solar Grazing
Solar grazing allows the joint use of land for livestock grazing and solar production. Panels can be designed and positioned to allow for grazing of sheep, cattle, pigs and poultry.
Pollinator Habitat
By planting native grasses and flowers under the panels for pollinator habitat we can help preserve and strengthen biodiversity in the community.
Crop Production
Solar panels provide shading and cooling that can increase the productivity of crops (greens, tomatoes, etc.) and feed crops (hay, grasses, grains). Solar panels can be designed to allow farm equipment to operate as usual. See examples of solar in these applications below.
This 7.5 MW project in Manheim, NY is estimated to generate 11,300,000 kWh, avoiding 4,888 Metric Tons of carbon emissions in the first year and 115,000 Metric Tons over the life of the project. The Lapp farm grows hay for animal feed. The solar arrays were specially designed to accommodate farm equipment such as tractors between rows.
LOCATION: Maheim, NY
SYSTEM SIZE: Over 32,000 panels/ 7.5 MW
ESTIMATED LIFETIME VALUE: Over $16,000,000
KWH GENERATED PER YEAR: 11,300,000 kWh/year
EMISSIONS AVOIDED: 115,500 Metric tons over the project life
EMISSIONS EQUIVALENT: Over 267,000 barrels of oil not consumed
